Many of Ireland’s finest butchers went head-to-head at the recent All Ireland Fine Foods Competition, organised by Butchery Excellence International.

Mulkern’s EUROSPAR reigned supreme taking home the title of ‘All Ireland Grand Prix Champion’ from the All Ireland Speciality Fine Foods Competition. Mulkern’s EUROSPAR received a string of accolades including category wins for Butcher Shop Ready Meals, Cook in the Bag Product, and Ready to Reheat Soups.

The competition, which took place at the premises of Butchery Excellence International in Aughnacloy, was  judged by Master Butcher Dave Lang, accredited cookery judge Dolan Heaney and Chief Judge, Chef Sean Owens.

Open to all independent butchers across the island and emphasises the quality provided by butchers just ahead of the busy festive seasons. Mulkern’s Eurospar took home the awards at the All Ireland Speciality Fine Foods Awards ceremony held at Aughnacloy golf club, on 14th September 2017.

Butchery Excellence International will create, support and validate an inter collaborative community of butchers across the island of Ireland who have a food sourcing and retailing support scheme that is based on unparalleled expertise, recognised training and auditing with true business integrity.

The organisation will encourage and harvest support for the local butcher in Ireland through marketing initiatives regional, national and international.
