It was fun for the whole family at Mulkerns 2017

Mulkerns’ EUROSPAR, hosted a family fun day on Saturday 17th June for the wider Newry community, with an exciting performance from a very special guest.The fun day celebrated the launch of EUROSPAR’s, ‘Your Community Supermarket’ campaign which is being supported by a new TV advertisement starring country music sensation, Marty Mone.

The supermarket based on Forkhill Road, Newry, provided a BBQ and refreshments along with a whole range of family fun including face-painting, balloon modelling, bouncy castles and visits from some well-known mascot friends.

Country music fans were entertained by a top line-up featuring Newry’s very own Barry Doyle (AKA  Farmer Dan), Mini Macs Roadshow and of course Marty Mone whose hit single, ‘Hit the Diff’ has been reworked to feature in EUROSPAR’s new TV advertisement.

The new version of the viral-hit highlights many of the fantastic features that makes EUROSPAR a great community supermarket, from fresh local produce, services available, its strong community roots and the support it gives to local charities.

Store owner, Terry Mulkerns had this to say, “We really enjoyed hosting the family fun day and loved welcoming the people through our doors to enjoy family entertainment and top country music.” “Playing an active role in our local community is so important to the whole team here at Mulkerns. Mulkerns’ EUROSPAR has established itself as a hub for the local community providing daily essentials and top of the range fresh, local produce on the shelves.

The store has recently installed a public access Automated External Defibrillator, following successful fundraising efforts by the whole community to provide the equipment which can be life-saving in the event of an emergency. As well as supporting local sports teams and assisting community groups, Mulkerns EUROSPAR has also been involved in fundraising for Cancer Fund for Children and hosted a coffee morning, bringing customers closer together while also supporting a great local cause.
