French Toast

Ingredients 

  • 50ml whole milk  
  • 2 free-range eggs  
  • Bread of choice (approx. 4 slices)  
  • Salt  
  • 2 tbsp butter  
  • Optional: Cinnamon, maple syrup, bacon, cream, fruit, etc.

Method 

  • Combine eggs and milk in a wide bowl. Add a pinch of salt to season. 
  • Heat butter in frying pan over a medium heat.  
  • Dip bread slices into the egg and milk mixture until soaked through but not soggy.  
  • Move bread slices to pan and fry on each side until golden and crisp. 
  • Remove from pan set onto a plate. 
  • Serve as is (with some salt to taste) for a savoury option or add crispy bacon and maple syrup/fresh cream and berries for a sweeter breakfast.
